Downtown and Birthday fun

I have now officially been here for over a month! Let me say, the feeling to know that I'll be going home in only a couple of months is horrible! I'm having a great time here.
Last Saturday, we just had a lazy day, watching 'the Secret Circle', which is an absolutely amazing tv show, for 11 hours. Oups...
On Sunday we went to the best pizza place in the world - Screamin' Mimi's! Since my mom kept complayning that I didn't take enough pictures, I decided to take some when we drove through town, so here they are:
Is this the biggest pizza ever or what?

This street is actually kind of scary. In the past, when slaves tradery was still very common, the slaves would be in these holes in the wall, holding cells, (you can see them on the next picture), then the slave traders would take them out on the street. The buyers would stand on the bridge on top of them and make their offer.

This is Riverstreet, here there are many restaurants and little shops, but it is more for the tourists. It's right by the river, and you can even see the old trolley tracks in the middle of the road.

Again, Riverstreet. It is actually South Carolina on the other side of the river.

One of the theatres in Savannah, the Lucas theatre.

The Marshall House is an old hotel, but it is known to be haunted (many places in Savannah are, actually the whole city). During the Civil War this building was used as a Union hospital, for wounded soldiers. 1864 was a really cold year, the ground was frozen, so the doctors couldn't bury amputated legs and arms. They had to bury them under the floorboards, which makes it a really creepy place to stay. The hotel is said to be haunted by the soldiers who died there.

Look where I can go whenever I want, heheheh

On Monday, we didn't have school because here, it was a holiday called Labor day. But we still had volleyball practice, so we went there at 11.15 to 12. On Tuesday the team had a game, and since I was there anyways but had nothing to do, Coach put me in as a line judge, which I had also been at the previous game.

Wednesday it was my hostdads birthday, so we ordered Chinese food and had cake. My mom had sent me a package, that had arrived the day before with a cooking book in English with Danish recepies, some licorice, a book with some of H.C. Andersen most famous fairytales in English. Since my host dad loves to cook, I gave him the cooking book. Yesterday it was Kayla's birthday, so I gave her the H.C. Andersen book.
For her birthday, we are also going to Disneyworld in Orlando next weekend, which was a surprise for her, I'm really excited about that. I have never been to Disney anywhere, so it's going to be fun!
Kayla with her Disney cake saying 'Happy Birthday Kayla, see you next weekend!'

American football!

Last Friday I went to my first American football game, and it was amazing. It is just like in the movies, with the chearleeders, the marching band, the cheering crowds and just the whole atmosphere.
My school doesn't have a football team, so instead we went to a BC game. That's a private, all-boys military school in Savannah. They were playing against Effingham County Highschool and won fourty-something to 7. Whoop whoop.

The chearleaders were from another private school, Saint Vincent's.
